Determination of Rose Essential Oil Components Using ANEYU 7700 GC-MS

Use the Enshi 7700 GC-MS to separate and identify components of rose essential oil. Perform full-scan mass spectrometry for qualitative analysis based on library matching results.

Experimental Conditions

Injection Mode: Direct Injection; GC Column: DB-5MS 30m × 0.25mm × 0.25µm; Inlet Mode: Split;

Split ratio: 20:1; Injection volume: 0.4µL; Inlet temperature: 250℃; Column flow rate: 1.0mL/min (constant flow);

Ramp-up program: 75°C (2 min) 5°C/min 210°C 10°C/min² 40°C (10 min).

Ion source temperature: 240°C; Transfer line: 250°C; Solvent delay: 1 min; Scan mode: Full scan (Scan); Scanning

Range: 35~400 AMU; Filament Current: 150 µA

Experimental Results

Pipette 0.4µL of the essential oil each and inject directly. Perform full-scan qualitative analysis using the instrument conditions described above, with the result showing the highest similarity to the spectral library taken as the final outcome. The analysis reveals that rose essential oil is highly complex, comprising over 100 compounds. Based on relative peak areas, its primary constituents are phenylethyl alcohol, citronellol, and nerolidol. Additionally, eugenol, anethole, 3-methyl-2-hexanol, methyl eugenol, and benzyl alcohol are significant components.
